Liquet Medical, a private medical technology company focused on treating blood clots in the lungs using a localized drug-delivery catheter, today announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Gabriele G. Niederauer, PhD, as Chair of the Board. In this role, Dr. Niederauer will support the company’s efforts to gain regulatory clearance and collect post-market data to demonstrate product performance.

 Dr. Niederauer joined Liquet Medical’s Board of Directors in November of 2023, after having been a business advisor to Liquet’s Management Team during the prior six months. This promotion will elevate the company’s design, development, and commercialization goals by leveraging Dr. Niederauer’s technical experience and early-stage med-device CEO successes. Gary Cupit, PharmD, founding Chair of the Board, commented “I am very pleased that Liquet was able to attract someone like Gabi with such deep as well as specific experience in this industry, adding to the depth of experience already in management.” Liquet's CEO, John Schindler, added “We are excited about Gabi taking on this role. Gabriele Niederauer, PhD, is an accomplished serial entrepreneur in the medical device industry.  Dr. Niederauer most recently was Chief Executive Officer and President at Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, where she built the company from First-in-Human to regulatory approval & reimbursement, to launches in the US and Europe, and ultimately an acquisition to Merit Medical. Prior to Bluegrass Vascular, she led Research & Development teams at several successful medical device companies. She has broad-based experience taking clinical ideas from concept to market to exit. She puts a high priority on building a successful enterprise, deepening physician relationships, and growing market presence and sales.
